I have Floratam grass and live in Central Florida. I’ve read the postings about the baking soda on crab grass which I’ll try but what about the Bermuda grass, Seems like those roots go to China!! I’ve pulled, dug and replaced and wala they reappear!! Of course all the weed killers say “do not use on Floratam” Also tried Bonus S and that did NOTHING on even the occasional dollar weed. Had Tru-Green… have more weeds now! Thanks!!’

Tru-Green sux. If they told you they’d get rid of it for you…they lied to you. There is no selective herbicide control for Bermuda Grass in St. Aug. But understanding why it is there is a good start, got to change conditions. First, fix your irrigation coverage. you must receive 1″ of water to any area where you have Bernuda problems. It is a dry tolerant grass. It only inhabits areas abandoned by St. Aug due to dry conditions. Kill Bermuda areas with round-up (once irrigation coverage and amount is squared away). Do it 2x, 10 days apart, cut out and replace. Make the conditions MOST favorable for St Aug and that’s what you’ll have!
