2,4 D

I have a question as to what weeds this can be used to kill in my yard. I live in Iowa and have a fairly nice yard but I am have crab grass, creeping charlie and clover coming in strong. I have used weed & feeds (granulars) applied at the appropriate times of year & Ortho products with little success so my brother in law is a farmer and gave me a 1 liter pop bottle filled with 2,4 D to use. Will this kill what I have listed above with out killing the grass and if so does anyone have the ratio to mix in a one gallon pump sprayer?

Without knowing the concentration of what is in the pop bottle it’s impossible to know how much water to add. But, check Home Depot and they should have some 2,4,D with all the information you need in terms of percentages on the label.
It is sold in several concentrations and there are instructions on the bottle I bought for several different levels of dilution for different purposes.

you’re not seeing crabgrass in your market just yet. granular products no good on broadleaf weeds.

use dimension for crabgrass, alot of complete fertilizers come with the herbicide in it. 2,4-d is good for most all broadleaf weeds. Use a product like momentum or Lesco’s three-way.
