2 month old Empire sodded Zoysia in S. Florida with numerous seed heads

In S Fla. 2 months with Empire Zoysia but I have noticed certain pieces of sod have a substantial number of seed heads. Being cut weekly with a rotary at 1 1.5 inches. The seedheads are begining to ruin the bright green appearance of the lawn. Any thoughts or suggestions?

At that mowing height, you may need to mow more frequently. If you’re willing to try it, Empire does quite well at a 2.5-3.5 height. Your once a week schdule will work better, and you probably won’t have to deal with those seed heads any more.

They only come out in the spring. They’ll be gone soon.
PS: they are not fertile so don’t try growing them.
