Yellowing Zenith Zoysia

Zenith Zoysia sod is 6 months ols and has been wt=aterwed regularly. Much of the sod is turning yellow and appears to need fertilizer. Sod was placed over poor soil. Grass is mowed to a 2-3 inch height. Thatch is light. What can I do to improve color?
