I’ve been trying to get an answer to that one via online and other research for a month or more. I’ve talked with growers, extension agents, etc, and can’t get a whole lot of direction…
In the end, it sounds like Emerald has a finer blade (better), is harder to mow cleanly (worse), is less cold hardy (worse), and grows a little slower (toss-up, depending on your needs).
I think I want Emerald, but Meyer is easier to get in North Georgia… Only one grower (in middle/south georgia) carries Emerald.

I planted Emerald Zoysia sod in my North Atlanta yard. Looks good for about 5 months during the year. It gets pretty bad in the winter and doesn’t green up until the end of May. I give it alot of care and mowing but this grass really isn’t well suited for this area. Put simply: NOT RECOMMENDED for Atlanta.
I almost forgot Do Not over water. Floratan /Seville all strains of St. Augustine are suseptible to fungus from over…
I am from the north and it has taken me five yrs to learn and undertand seville lawns. No 1…
