professional problem – millet dead and gone

we do professional erosion control – thought I would see if anyone knows why the browntop millet would grow and then disappear. I mean gone. Didn’t just die – its all gone. Can’t imagine what happened. We did about 20 acres and 4 are gone now. Ever heard of such a thing? Hasn’t been below 50’s here in NC – and good red clay to plant in – I am without answers for my client. Help.
