HELP: Fairy Circles

Half of my front yard has been progressively dying since last year (Myers Zosia). We have been putting Bayer fungus control on it with no success. We just noticed these ugly seaweed looking things growing in the deader areas. My local nursery said it was fairy circles (mushroom based, puts toxin in ground) and there was NOTHING I could do except rip the yard out and start over. HELP
