Grass Destin, Fl

I just recently returned from Destin, Fl and was very impressed with the way the town was so well kept espically the grass. I noticed they had a certin grass growing all over the road sides and in front of businesses and I am wondering what it is. This grass was a very dense grass and the blade was a fine to medium texture and was very dark green in color. Does anyone know what kind of grass this is? I am very interested in seeing if it is a good choice for my lawn at home in Baton Rouge, LA.
