How do you keep the lawn from turning yellow where a dog pees?

I learned from an earlier post to sprinkle granulated sugar (about 1/2 cup) on the area. This should help, but it takes a couple of weeks. You may want to look at (much) earlier posts regarding dog urine. One post suggested flushing the area with water, but this has to be done immediately.??!Hope this helps!
