I am planning on starting a sod farm when I graduate NC State, and I would like to know what would be the best types of grasses for me to grow for the Charlotte NC, area.

Bermuda and fescue are sure bets, however you should check with NC State for the exact details.

They have an excellent turf research program.

If you going to use Fescue, don’t use anything but Plantation or Southern Gold. Rebels are OK.

K-Bluegrass makes the best looking cool season grass, but you have water it a lot during the dry summer months.

I’m actually switching to Zoysia Emerald so I don’t have worry about the heat anymore.
