After fighting with my lawn for 10 years , trying to get "standard" St. Aug to grow, I finally discovered Delmar. I have lots of shade, and live in north Texas (currently over 100 degress today). I put Delmar sod down over the existing spotty grass. I first watered the existing lawn, and also put down a little organic compost with cow manure. Most of the sod is doing good to well. But a portion is starting to turn brown and dying in spots. What kinds of fertilizer or other material should I put down? I heard I should apply something that is high in potassium. Also, I have been watering frequently and deeply. Thanks.

when did you install the new sod? If recently then you need to go very easy on nitrogen fertilizer. I would put down a potassium application (0-0-62 or similar) following the label recommendations. I suspect you have some gray leafspot fungus active, it's very common in new sod when it's warm/humid/rainy. You might want to back down a bit on the irrigation but this depends on how new the sod is. Your sod may require fungicide treatments to keep the leafspot limited. Photos would really help!
