Hello,

I live in Land O Lakes, FL and I have a 1/2 acre lot and we had watering restrictions were I could only water eight hours a week; however, now the water restrictions are only four fours a week.

When I could water 8 hours a week I could put down roughly 0.6" of water on my lawn a week. Now I will only be able to put down 0.3" of water a week.

I am debating if I want to keep my front yard green and just let my back yard go. Should I just use all of my watering time on my front yard and try for 1" of water on the front and let the rest go. Or will a yard with St. Augstine survive with 0.3" of water a week? If I can keep St. Augustine alive on 0.3" of water I will water everything. Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Chris

How big is your yard? Do you have an inground sprinkler system? If yes then maybe you can change the heads and get more water out.

Watering 0.3 inches is likely to result in shallow roots.
