Hello…….I live in south Georgia….125 miles south of Atlanta on the coastal plain. I would like to sprig Palmetto St Augustine into an established centipede lawn. Would this St Augustine overtake the centipede or would I have to kill the centipede 1st?(and listen to my caterwauling wife)

I have found that St Augustine grows very fast as long as it is maintained correctly and would probably take out the slow growing centipede. Maybe you should get a few plugs and give it a try. I started last June with one pallet of Bitter Blue St Augustine in the front of my house (a area the gets a lot of shade) it did great where other types of grass I had tried just barely survived. But I did not just let it choke out the old grass I hit the old grass with Roundup and waited a week and hit it again. Since then I have sodded my whole yard with the Bitter Blue and other then a minor problem with some bermuda it is doing great.
