I have a large area that I'm letting the common Bermuda go to seed on. However I want to harvest the seed and store them myself but Im finding it difficult to know when to harvest the seeds. The seed heads have done got these purple looking extremely small "flowers?" I'm assuming on them and the seed pods are so soft that there appears to be nothing in them, how do you know when to harvest the seeds? I mean with Ky 31 Its a breeze because It's all to easy to tell when there ready They turn a certain color and stuff but with the common Bermuda being this Is my first year growing It I don't have a clue as to when to harvest them. Is there a certain way the seed head is suppose to look? Or something?? Is there any pics on the Internet as to what the seed heads look like when there ready to harvest? But It's strange most of them has like these purple things on them like I described earlier. By the way the Common Bermuda Is the one I'm talking about, I don't mess with the hybrids and Have no desire to have them so yeah If anyone can help me out with This It would be very handy to me.

Maybe try- 'Seeds west.com' . They are one of the companies who came out with the first seeded type improved bermuda's. They should know every thing about it.....or at least point you in the right direction.
