I live in the South and have bermuda grass in the front and back yards. For the last several years, it was very thick, green and pretty. This year 1/4 of the front and back lawns are dead, down to only seeing dirt. The other part of the lawn is fine. Any ideas what would have killed the bermuda? Tried sodding some of the area and it doesn’t look like it will live. Have a professional lawn service who has no idea what could be the problem. Even thought they might have killed it when spraying, but then all of the yard would be dead, I would think. Any ideas?

I’d check for mole crickets. Go to:http://molecrickets.ifas.ufl.edu/mcri0002.htmfor a good discussion and ways to check for their presence.
