I am moving from my home in the Austin area to a new home in Round Rock. I am deciding on a grass for the backyard (bare from the builder). I am having a irrigation system installed, so keeping a regular watering schedule will not be a problem. Shade tolerance obviously is not too much an issue with the current situation (minimal shade, no mature trees), but I would like to plan ahead. I currently have a bermuda hybrid at my home, which has been fine, but it seems like Zoysia has similar characteristic, but is a little bit better of a grass. The front has Tif 419. Anyone have a Zoysia or other grass they would recommend? Further, anyone you recommend buying from? I don't mind spending a little more now in order to get a grass that I will be happy with for years. Thanks in advance for the help/advice! IP: Logged |

In my opinion my empirezoysia looks way better than bermuda although I don't know the comparisons when it comes to watering and sun. I will say, empire zoysia will grow in the shade but if you have any traffic on it within that shaded region it will take forever to come back. IP: Logged |
