Hey guys,

How can I tell if my lawn (St. Augustine) has been over fertilized? I was away on business and I had my cousin fertilize my lawn. Most of the lawn still looks healthy but I have a doughnut shaped dry spot in the lawn. Funny enough, the grass in the middle of the "doughnut" looks healthy but the perimeter looks dry and brown. The weather has been extremely hot and dry for the last month. I'm not sure if the lawn has not been watered well in that area or if it's the fertilizer. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like the fertilizer was spilled in that area. Soak the area to dilute as much fertilizer as you can.
