I live in Delaware and we have the wire grass growing like crazy too! Most of the dumb neighbors though think is there green fescue growing great. ANd they wonder why their looks like $%#^ in the winter due to all the wore grass browning up. I have a beautiful lawn keeping up with all the routine sprayings and feedings. I have had problems this year with the wire grass creeping up in the spots where the grass is not so thick. I think I will wait until the end of Sept. and overseed my lawn. that will give a chance for the grass to come up sopefully. The only question I have is it still safe for me to put standard crabgrass preventer in the spring with the young seedlings struggling to stay alove over the winter or will it hit the young grass and kill it??????? Please help!!

If your going to seed in the fall, you might as well spray ‘Round up’ on the whole yard to rid it of bermuda before you seed! Yep, you can use crabgrass preventer in the spring. The grass will be plenty established by then.
