is cracked corn usable if I cannot find corn meal? Or should I use Alphalfa instead? Also, how often should i fertilize, i dont want to do it more then necessary Please help..asap

Cracked corn will work. Alfalfa may work better for you. Cracked corn usually has a few whole kernels in it. Those will sprout and become corn weeds for you.
I fertilize three times a year to maintain greenness. I start in Feb, again in July, and again in Sept. I live in San Antonio so your timing may vary.

I am having trouble spreading corn meal using a broadcast spreader. It does not drop out the exit easily as granular products do. Any suggestions? Thanks.
