I have had a tremendous problem with weeds in my soil and mulch.Sanitized potting soil, treated to kill weed seeds, is a great solution, but quite expensive.

Is there sanitized topsoil available that can be purchased in bulk?

gatorsig, it depends on where you are located and what you are trying to achieve whether you can find a suitable soil material naturally free of weeds. Naturally occuring soil components such as sand and organic humus can sometimes be free of weed seeds if they are mined from several feet deep, but anything on the surface is likely to have a high seed bank. If you are looking for a nursery mix, some of the components such as pine bark, melaleuca compost, Sphagnum moss peat, etc., are either naturally free of weed seeds, or have been heat treated during composting.

Quality costs, but it’s usually less expensive than weed problems.
