I am wondering if anyone could give me some info on the Spearhead Trident 5000 Gang Flail Mower or the Peruzzo (Triflex) Gang Flail Mower

We are looking at the Spearhead Trident 5000 Gang Flail Mower or the Peruzzo (Triflex) Gang Flail Mower to add to our fleet. We would like to put one of these units into a Council Parkland and Sports turf environment in Melbourne Australia and would like to know the life we would expect out of these machines, how owners have found their performance and if they have found any faults or down falls with these units.

The other thing is that I have noticed that the Trident 5000 has only one rear guide roll and does not pivot forward or back to the ground contours, does this cause scalping when the roller fines low points in the surface such as drainage line ?.

At the moment we are running cylinder mowers and like many other Council we wish to do away with the high maintenance costs related to Cylinders. At the moment the only gang flail fine cut mower available in Australia is the Peruzzo (Triflex) (http://www.peruzzo.it/eng/index.php?c=6&wh=1&id=38), there is not a Spearhead unit in Australia; however we have asked our local importer of Spearhead to bring one out for us to trial.

Any help you can give me in selecting the right machine for us would be greatly appreciated

Is anybody in New Zealand presently using this mower. If so under what conditions is it best suited for, and does it handle thick Kikuyu grass and rough terrain ?I would be most grateful to hear from anybody or organisation that has had experience with this model Anybody ?
