I laid my new St Augustine lawn about 3 weeks ago and my neighbors crabgrass is starting to invade it.

I tried baking soda on it and it turned the crabgrass yellow but i don’t think it killed it.

What do you guys recommend

BTW I live in Orlando,Florida

Thanks

Matt

Matt,

It’s your crabgrass. IF it is crabgrass.

You see, Crabgrass germinates from seeds. It doesn’t spread until after last years plant dies and the seeds are moved mechanically(on feet or lawn mower wheels, ect.)

I suggest you call a qualified lawn maintenance guy to check out the weeds and see if it is in fact crabgrass. Treat if nessasary and plan on applying PreM next Spring. Dimension and Pendamethalin work really well.

Good Luck and Keep it Green……………
