I live in Sacramento, Califonia. I have a problem with Poa Annua. I have a Hybrid Bermuda lawn. I am getting an abundance of Poa Annua in my lawn. So far, Round up and pulling them out one at a time is the only solution. Do anyone have a better idea?
Also I have a Fruitless Mulberry approx. 15 feet from my pond. Between the tree and the pond, my lawn suffers. It will not grow. I have resodded with soil ammendments. Do anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

The poa will be going away- little by little as the warm weather comes in. Next fall,(probably early Sept. for your area) apply a pre-emergent herbicide,(usually called “weed preventer” now days), to prevent poa seeds from germinating. Make sure the product is labled for lawns, as some weed preventers are designed only for shrub areas. You can also make the poa go away faster this spring- by watering less frequently! As for the shady area, maybe try seeding some zoysia. This would be the closest match to hybrid bermuda.

use a herbicide called prograss or velocity.-
