I live in ATL. The temp has been spotty, but we are approach the 70 degree days. I expect to see my centipede greenup when we hit the 80s I think, which might be March/April.
What do I need to do in preparation? From what I know, centipede needs 1 feeding of nitrogen in the spring, and is also not very tolerant of weed control products.
Should I use a pre-emergent in March to control any potential crab grasses / weeds? The lawn is fairly thick, but this will be the first full season with it, so I don’t know what I have down there germinating…

you got it!, go aheah and nail it with amonium nitrate, and an pre-emrgent now too and in the midd april range. as for creeping grasses you need to fetilize monthly, but don’t over do it.also a soil test wouldn’t hurt!
