I have a nice Berumda lawn that’s about two years old. It used to be level until we had some flooding. Now when I mow it leaves little circular marks because of the mower hitting a low spot.

Any suggestions on how to level out, aside from a dozer of course….Ha Ha.

BUY A MOWER WITH A FLOATING DECK AND KNOW WHERE YOUR LOW SPOTS ARE IN YOUR LAWN SO YOU CAN CUT DIFFRENT IN THOSE SPOTS

You don’t need to buy a new lawn mower. How big are these spots anyway? Identify them and topdress with sand, about 1/4 to 1/2 at a time, unless these spots are significantly deep, then level with sand and seed or sod over it.

Cohiba

I was just messing with him but the circular marks I took to be a blade scalping type mark. Like from a normal homeowner style Rotary mower

I my self use commerical Z-Trac mowers that do have a floating deck and wont scalp unless I just dont pay attention.

get it now what I meant

The technique is to take a 5 gallon bucket of sand at the time and pour out into the low spots. Take a garden rake, turn it over and smooth the sand into the lawn until even. Works well.

I thought topsoil mixed with peatmoss was the way. The sand won’t dry it out? Does it make a difference what kind of sand it is – masonry, etc? I would love to get the bumpy ride out of mowing.
