North Atlanta Area: I had some tree work done this weekend. While the company laid plywood before pulling the truck on the lawn, we noticed afterwards that the right rear dual tires were on the grass.
I have two depressions on the grass. I was considering “raising” the grass by using a pitch fork. My concern is that the earth underneath will not rebound and will remain compressed.
Do you think it best to try and raise it or fill in the depressions with sand? And if I use sand, what is the best kind to use?

I live in Paulding County. I bought a new house last year that had a spot next to the driveway where tires had driven through. I dug it up and filled in with regular dirt (red clay mostly) and laid the sod back down on top. I have been fertilizing it (and the entire yard) regularly. It seemed to work alright. Might not have been the best way to do it. But, it looks fine now. Make sure you water it and level it good.
