I have brown spots in my 5 acre yard. Some of these are very large in size. I am trying to find out how to fix these aeras in a cost effective manner without breaking the bank.Someone told me I have to kill the aera with round-up and then re-seed the aera?? Thanks for the help.

Without knowing where you live or what kind of grass you have, I’m going to venture a guess that you have a fungus. Are any of the spots circular? If so then you can almost be assured of a fungus.

The cure for fungus is ordinary corn meal at 20 pounds per 1,000 square feet. You can get corn meal at feed stores in bulk and it won’t break the bank. Corn meal is also a fertilizer so you can kill two birds with one stone.
