I just wanted to see if any one knew if one was better than the other. I just noticed that Scotts had both a liquid and regular of the same turf builder fertilizer.

Liquid fertilizers are generally immediate release fertilizers. They get used immediately or they disappear. If you start using liquids, you’ll need to reapply every 2 weeks all year long.
On the other hand, a dry slow release product that will last for months and months.

dry fertilizers have a lot more technology in them. we generally fertilize with granular then spot spray with liquid.

I am in the midatlatic states with mostly cool season grasses. We generally use liquid N for applying lower Nitrogen amounts (as low as 1/8# N)to turf in summer to keep it green and healthy without producing that flush of growth in a period when disease will wipe it out. (IE: Pythium) We use mostly granulars in spring and fall. The big difference is cost. liquid fert is more expensive per # of Nitrogen.
