Tell us what the grass is. Try some MSMA

If some of what you have is crabgrass, try dusting baking soda on the crabgrass. Put some in a sock and beat the crabgrass to dust it out in a fine manner.

I’ve been reading that the crabgrass leaves will turn black and gooey in 3-5 days after this treatment. If that is the way it works, somehow the baking soda is causing a disease to develop on the crabgrass. The writers say their surrounding grass is not affected by the baking soda.
