I think I know what the answer/response is going to be but I would like to hear it from the experts in this forum. I laided the new grass on an area that was not leveled. My question: how to solve the leveling problem now that the lawn is growing with the new grass? If you have any suggestions please don’t hesitate to respond. Thanks. AL.

Two, not very agreeable, options:1. Rent a sod cutter, remove sod, level yard, and lay sod (again)

2. Place ½ inch of dirt in low spots, and let grass recover. Repeat until lawn is level.

I am not sure what kind of grass we are talking about, but I would suggest placing sand down in the late fall or winter months.

Just plain old sand will easily filter thru the grass without damaging it.

Thanks for responding. One: I will definately not cut out the sod. I will most likely pure sand or dirt over it, its a common practice out here. I have a two more questions: I don’t know if the grass that was planted on my back yard is St. Augustine but it is planted next to a sorgum field and some of the yard is turning yellow. Any suggestions? Another question: When I first built my home, St. Augustine grass was planted on my front yard. Its very green and looks very healthy. In contrast when grass was planted on my backyard, it does’nt look like the one in front. Is it possible to throw good seeds of St. Agustine grass and hope it grows that the one in front? Please let me know. Thanks. AL.
