Does anyone advise against using 10-10-10 or a starter fert on a heathy fescue lawn rather than using the high nitrogen stuff which makes the grass grow so darn fast? thanks in advance IP: Logged |

Right now you want to use something like 15-4-12 You want you roots to grow before the summer hits because fescue is a cool season grass. Once the summer hits the fescue will slow down. 10-10-10 is better than nothing IP: Logged |

Starter type is good, but you should have use it about two months ago, but it's still ok to do. I'm not saying to use more for top growth. It goes N= Nitrogen P=Phoshate and K Potassium for K is for roots IP: Logged |

I am saying to use more for root growth for this time of the year. It goew NPK K is for roots. A started is ok, but should have been use about two months ago. I'm still using a starter on my greens. IP: Logged |

Phosphorus P is the nutreint that e=nocurages root development not K starter pre seed fertiliser should be 1 - 2 - 1 ratio the increase of phostphates early on wheb the soil warms up and then it should be reduced as this nutrient in excess encourages poa annua IP: Logged |
