I have bermuda grass growing rampantly in my vegetable garden. How can I kill it without contaminating my vegetables?

My first thought was to use Roundup and spot spray it. They have some Roundup resistant veggies so roundup is used on food stuff.
An alternative would be to try spraying it with vinegar (pickling vinegar might work best). The vinegar will not permanently kill it but should really knock if for a loop plus vinegar is safe to eat.
Hope this helps.
