how do you get rid of yellow slime mold? Wouldn’t a solution of soap and amonium work?

I believe the yellow slime mold is a cosmetic problem and not a plant health problem.
Some folks just water it with a hard jet to break it up and it goes away.
I would use corn meal on it but I use corn meal on everything.

Sprinkle a little corn meal on your slime mold, and ummmmmm, deeeeelicious! Makes a great snack in the afternoon, too.

I think what you may be describing as “yellow slime mold” may be a slimy, mucilanginous fungus, very possibly a slime mold, but not the dry dusty slime mold that we normally associate with St. Augustinegrass. These things usually go away on their own within a couple weeks.
