The past 2 years I’ve put a large amount of granulated lime on my yard cuz I heard that would get rid of the moles. It worked well until this year, now I have about a dozen mounds of dirt as well as tons of tunnels. I’ve spent time using traps and killed 7 in one summer a few years ago. I also tried the castor bean oil preparation without success. I live in Wisconsin. Anybody have a sure-fire way to get rid of them for good?

the ph of your lawn has nothing to do with moles. the only way to get rid of moles is thru traps. i think there’s a guy on the internet that’s a professional mole trapper if you want more info. all these farmer tales about exlax, etc. are a big waste of time. i own a chemical lawn care company in the midwest. university of ky. has an extensive site on these animals.

This recipe worked on one or two moles that wandered into our lawn. 8oz of dish soap, 4oz of castor oil, and 2oz of urine. Use one tablespoon in a quart or one cup in a gallon. Apply to the tracks the mole is leaving in the yard. It worked real well in keeping the mole in my neighbors yard where it was coming from. When the mole hit my treated lot line you should have seen the soil it tore up. Good luck.
