I fertilized last weekend, but got caught by the afternoon rain. The rain got in before I could sweep the sidewalks and driveway, and all of the excess fertilizer went to the edges of the lawn. Now I’m getting some burn which spreads every day. Is there something that I can do to relieve the stress on the grass?

If you can see granules of fertilizer I’d drag out my shop vacuum and suck up as much as I could. I’d certainly go over areas that were turning brown. I’d then flush areas with as much water as I could.

I’m not sure that these “procedure” won’t do more harm than good, but that is what I’d do.I might consider spreading some gypsum…it is reported to help grass recover form salt damage and it may help your problem.
