Matchweed is also known as Creeping Charlie (careful, as other weeds are called Creeping Charlie) and its scientific name is Phyla nodiflora (formerly Lippia nodiflora). Matchweed creeps by rooted nodes, and the flowers are clustered in tiny heads about the size and shape of the head of a wooden match.

It is easily killed in bermudagrass turf using various phenoxy herbicide combinations such as Trimec Southernhttp://weedalert.com/weed_pages/wa_matchweed.htm

This product is not labelled for use on Floratam St. Augustinegrass. If you have Floratam St. Augustinegrass, you have to use something else. Other manufacturers have similar products.

Also, be careful to avoid drift by wind to vegetables and other ornamentals.
