I just built a new home and have been in it for 5 months now. I currently don’t have a lawn, it’s more of what the contractor left and then the weeds filled in. I don’t really want to roundup the weeds until I have figured out what type of seed to use. I have been all over the internet, and most of the stores and still can’t make up my mind.

Now the real problem is that I only get to spend 3 days out of the week at this house (until I can find a new job.) So I need something that can fend for itself for a couple of days until I can get back to it. I also have 3 dogs that run around the area too.

The seed that I seen last week in Walmart was produced by Pennington Seed and it was a tall fescue mix called Rebel IV. If anyone can help I’d really appreciate it.

i think you’re too far north- try bluegrass or rye? call your local lesco service center- forget the tall fescue.

I bought a 50# bag of Spartan Grass seed mixture. Its a mix formulated at MSU for the Michigan weather. I think it is produced in Grand Ledge. I was very happy with the results.

My friend bought a new home in Bath and his builder used it too.
