I’m about to put a new lawn down. After reading some of the threads here, I’m questioning some of my plans. I’m definately putting down St. Augustine. So far in some area of my crazy lot it’s grown quite well before I bought the house and is still doing well. I had planned to put down black dirt, but am I better off using sandy loam? In some areas the dirt will be 16 to 20 inches deep. Also, I was planning on watering every morning and evening for a couple of hours at a time for at least a week or two to get the roots grounded. Is this too much watering?
