I have common Bermuda in OK shape but has rescue rampant now (near Dallas, Texas).
I have tried pulling them (they grew back in 1 week) and tested spot killing with round-up but have read on here both approaches aren’t good.
I’m thinking I’ll just keep it shorter until it heats up and the rescue is gone,but in the mean-time I wanted to aerate and over-seed with Princess77.
Can any recommend whether this is a good idea? My plan was to then lay down perennial rye in the late fall.

Wow, Princess is very expensive to try such an experiment. I know its a lot of work, but I would try and remove the existing grass as much as possible to expose the soil. The existing bermuda will come back, but you need to have the Princess seeds touching soil or they will not sprout. Bermuda is known for that. The seeds also need to be covered with a fine layer of dirt to sprout.

just roundup the fescue then reseed with bermuda, not that hard. you could have done selective roundup applications on the fescue during your coldest months of the winter to help with the “weed” problem.
