I live in Southwestern Ontario and have a problem with my lawn. I believe that my lawn should be bluegrass and rye mixture and there is a different strain that is taking over. I have been told that it is like a golf green type grass. It is very thick but with very poor root structure. You can grab a handful of it and just peel the sod back with very little effort. It is also a different color green. It is first to yellow in the late season and the last to get green in the spring. How should I get rid of it…kill it all and start with new seed or dethatch it heavily and try seed. The lawn is sprinklered.
