Hello,My name is Justin and I have a question regarding the GN-1 Bermuda. I recently layed GN-1 in my yard and my neighbor is worried it will take over his Marathon II grass. Our yards are separated by a six-foot wooden fence and nothing else. What is the best way short of pouring a concrete curb to prevent creeping?

I have GN-1 as well in our back yard and my wife has a lot of flower beds. Similar problem as you have, keep the turf out of the beds, in your case, neighbor’s yard. I think the depth of cut has a lot to do with it. I mow at 7/16″ during the season and have been successful in holding it out of the beds by running a barrier about two inches above the ground. I used 1/4″ pressure treated plywood, cut in 8′ x 4″ strips, buried 2″ in the ground and staked in place evey 4 feet. They are flexible enough so you can contour if necessary. Hit the GBN-1 runners against the barrier about once a month with a string trimmer and that does the job. You may be able to afix the barrier to the fence you already have in place. For the most part, GN-1 likes to extend with runners above ground. I have experienced some subterranaen growth as well. But not with the barrier buried in the ground.
Now,if some get through, and take root on the wrong side of the barrier, I’d hit them with Image. This product is really intended to deal with nutsdege, but if I use it on my GN-1 it’s about as if I hit it with Roundup. Nice thing about this is that your neighbor’s turf is likely far more tolerant of Image than GN-1. So the GN-1 tanks, but not his turf.
Finally, the fence you have may provide a lot of shade right next to it and in that case you really have no worries at all. Take the GN-1 out of the sun and it just gives up.
What farm did your GN-1 come from? Mine is from Oakhill in NC. I also have 419 on one yard but we strongly prefer the GN-1 for a nujber of reasons. Good choice.

Image is labeled for many grasses, broadleaves, and sedges. It also says that you can spray it right over the top of most bermudagrass, so it surprises me that the previous poster said it killed his. Sahara is a great product. It’s active ingredient is imazapyr or something like that. It is a soil sterilant. As long as you don’t spray it near any trees, just spray this product underneath the fence once a year. That’s right, this stuff actually is a soil sterilant that keeps anything from growing for 9 months or more. Here is some product information.

Image may be labeled for bermuda, but I can tell you that I, and others here, have found that not to be the case with GN1 as well as 419. For whatever reason, I use it and can kiss my turf goodbye.
But, thanks for the tip on the sterilizer. New to me, but sounds like something to definately look into.
