I planted the front yard with Empire 3 months ago. Anyone out there in west central Fla with succes? My is doing good, not great though. The area that gets full sun seem to be a bit yellow as compared to the sides of the house that get more shade. They look picture perfect. Not sure why. Also I am seeing some leaf blades turning purple. I was told it might be potassium deficient. Any one with some suggestions?

definitely sounds like K deficiency, esp on sandy areas. Yellowing could be N deficiency……use a good quality NPK slow release product with >10%K, and do not over fertilise…about 1/3 of rates for a golf course!

I would fertilize, too…make sure you get a fertilizer that is dominated by pottasium though…you don’t need hardly any nitrogen this time of year. Also, hold back on the water.
