Where is a good place in the dallas area to take a plug of grass to have them identify WHAT kind of grass is present in a recently purchased home.

just post it on this website- no problem- or take it to a local Lesco service center.

gutterguy, you can also contact your area County Extension agent. It can be very difficult to identify a grass in the vegetative (nonflowering) condition, therefore, if you see some inflorescences or seedheads that are a part of the unknown grass, these will be most useful to anyone identifying it. If you want an image posted here, please scan it to get a closeup, and email it to editor@turfgrass.com and if it’s good, I’ll post it.
