I am in the process of installing sod in my back/side yard and re-sodding sections of my sidewalk/front yard. But before spending my hard earned cash I wanted to do some research on St. Augustine sod. This is the type of sod they used when the house was built and since I live in Jacksonville, FL I guess it was the best option. I know there is a few types of St Augustine sod and I wanted to know; which is the best type for me? My yard has no shade in the front or the side and the way the house is positioned the sun hits the grass from dawn to dusk. I also have two small kids that love to run around and I have a golden retriever who thinks he is a marathon runner. Also if anyone can tell me which would be the best place to buy sod from in Jacksonville.

St. Augustine seville is what we recommend for Jax area.A little scarce right now,but is available.Try Asbury service center on south side, tell them Jody sent you.Floratam does not perform quite as well in N.Florida, but is about the standard lesser grade turf.
