I live in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. My lot was once a cotton field for over 20 years. I have no trees and very flat ground, so alot of hot dry summers. 8 years ago bermuda sod was laid down. Have problems with crabgrass, daffodils, colver and well every other type weed.) I can kill every weed and have a healthly bermuda if i use “Bonide-msma crabgrass killer-concentrate. But at 15 bucks for 16 oz i have had to spend over 150 dollars a summer to just contol the weeds.

What i really want is a wide blade grass that will spread well, seeds itself, requires the least maintance. Watering is not a problem im not that lazy.

Can i place centiped sod directly over bermuda and the centiped will take the bermuda over?

seanangela@bellsouth.netthanks for your help

Both centipede and bermuda like the same extremely low mowing conditions, so if you use centipede you will have two grasses competing for the sunlight. If you want something to choke out the bermuda you might consider St Augustine. Mow it at the highest setting on your mower and it will shade out the bermuda.
