HERE IS THIS SITUATION:
The facility I maintain in Raleigh NC is about 3 years old – the gravel parking area wasn’t designed right so we are fighting run off in an area that grows more STONES than dirt or weeds.Since it is on a semi steep hill I am trying to find an affordable grass that will grow FAST and maintain a LOW profile for less grooming.
Have tried to find about 4 rolls of centipede sod that could be cut into small plug like chunks to attempt to establish a base to spred from but as of yet I haven’t found any – so – is there any other idea for a way to anchor grass until it starts to build a root system?
I have tried oat straw, as well as the fiber with seed in it, and also the fiber with the nylon web threw out it (comes in rolls) that you cover seed with.
NOTHING has worked very well! At this rate in about 3 or 4 years the hill may be 70% covered.

You’ll be miles ahead if you fix the problem rather than applying a band aid. Terrace the area and be done with it.

The problem is that the parking lot will be phase 3 of the future plans. Phase 2 has not been slated yet
