I moved into an exclusive neighborhood and there are finely manicured bermuda lawns everywhere. I prefer a natural look with indigenous weeds. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this bermuda and get something more natural looking?

1. Water every day for a few minutes at a time. This will ensure the weed seeds get enough water to sprout.
2. Let your bermuda grow up to about 4 inches high, then scalp it to let the light in down to the weed seeds. Then let it grow to 4 inches and scalp again. This should expose the maximum number of seeds to the sun.
3. Stop fertilizing. Bermuda needs a ton of fertilizer.

Thanks. This sounds like good advice. I’m just not crazy about having my yard look like the Disney Land grounds. Now if I could get wild flowers growing in the front yard.
