Please – please – please – does anyone have a solution to getting rid of Bermuda Grass showing up in my beautiful Fescue lawn. Is there any chemical that can be put on the Bermuda without killing my beautiful Fescue?

What everyone here is telling me is to spray Roundup in and kill the Bremuda and overseed. There must be a better way!!

Jim

Is your mower set as high as it will go? Fescue can stand that easily but bermuda will be shaded out by the tall fescue.

The mower is set at the highest, but this area of the lawn that has the Bermuda area is in full sun all day.

You should investigate the herbicide “Acclaim Extra” (from a company called Chipco) which claims to suppress bermudagrass in tall fescue.

Acclaim will cost you a fortune and will do very little. Bite the bullet and use the round up and overseed. This is a great time of year to kill bermuda and grow new fescue.
