Early this spring I used a spray weed killer on my st augistine lawn (back yard only thank god) but I used to much and killed the foliage. The runners seem to be green and it is attempting to come back. Have I done permanent damage or will it survive. I live in Houston Texas and the hot summer days are approaching, will the runners burn up? What should I do?

If the leaves die and the runners (called Stolons) remain green, then your grass will survive.
Just know that its now too hot in most areas of the South to be spraying weed killers on St. Augustine (atleast the ones I know about).
Just keep your grass watered to wilt, keep the weeds picked out of your sick spots, and with time and patience, your St. Augustine will revive itself in those areas.
St. Augustine is a very agressive grass.
