My St. Augustine Floritam is curling up in patches along the length of the blade – in other words, the blades are curled up and look thinner than usual. Its going on in patches of the lawn, which has me concerned.

Is this just a watering issue? Or something more serious? The irrigation system goes on tomorrow.

I’m no authority, but my guess is that you need to water. What you’ve described is classic sign of grass going (or having gone) dry.

Turns out all that was needed was water. The worst area was out by the curb. I decided to check my irrigation system to see if that area was being missed. Sure enough, one of my heads had gone quite cockeye – appears that someone had run over the curb and hit it. After a little digging, all is straight, the grass got watered, and it looked very happy this morning.
